patch level info

I have a few Opensuse and Redhat boxes and I was wondering how to get patch level information. I would like to know which RPMs have been patched etc. Is there any way to do this?

Thanks for any help.

if that then the command is :rpm -qf youfile

Thanks for your help. I've just read the rpm manpage for -qf and it's not really what I want. What I would like to have is a list of RPMs that have been patched or upgraded. For example, I had to upgrade tzdata RPM to resolve a timezone issue. Is there any way I can execute a command which will tell me that tzdata has been upgraded or patched to version "x" or from version "y" to version "x"?

Thanks for any further help.
