Only 16 groups per user?!?!

I have a CentOS5 server with Samba3, LDAP, network mounting NFS. I can only add a user to 16 groups before it fails. What gives? Is there a workaround?

Ok, I found the problem to be NFS. It only allows 16 groups. Since I was NFS mounting the /home/samba drive, anyone in more than 16 groups would lose permissions to everything. There are 2 solutions I could find:
1)Kernel patch (I wasn't down with that)
2)Put samba/ldap on the same server as the file server.(I'm ok with that)

To each his own.
