I have CentOS 6.4 installed with apache configured. I have Plesk installed and configured and wordpress for the developers. My site http://<website> is working fine and http works great. Recently I bought SSL certs and private key generated and I want to configure https://<website> to be configured. This is how I started with:

Restarted the apache. The https://<website.tv> points to CentOS Homepage.
Few Details:
My domains are placed under /var/www/vhosts/website.tv.
DocumentRoot under /var/www/vhosts/website.tv/httpdocs
There is rewritw rules placed under File: /var/www/vhosts/website.tv/httpdocs/.htaccess

I suspect if this is creating a conflict and might be the reason why SSL is not working for me. Any idea how to change this to help https://www.website.tv work.

Ok, not completely sure about your own config but I'd advise putting the CAs in as well (downloadable from the people you bought the cert from) just because otherwise if whatever browser it is doesn't have the CA cert built in it won't be a proper chain and you'll get a complaint about the cert on the client.
Anyway...
Personally I can't see anything with what's posted, but I'm sure gurus better than me might do.
However I can only see the one vhost there so if the other isn't separated into another vhost it might be also listening on 443 on that address and taking over, hence the rewrite MIGHT be causing your issue.
Only way to find out is comment it out and see. What do the access logs say? Have you looked to see if it reports which directory it's going to?

Ok, you've definitely got a different directory there so it's not picking up that it should be using your virtual host directive and is redirecting you to default.
Ok, I think ssl.conf applies to default stuff so if you comment out that and handle it all in your virtualhost directives you should hopefully be ok. I think it's because those parameters are global.
I've looked on one of ours and the ssl.conf is all commented out. SSL is very much working on that box
So I just need httpd.conf and not ssl.conf correct.
I will try commenting it everything under ssl.conf and keeping just httpd.cinf.
I have one question: can I keep listen 80 and 443 both under httpd.conf
This is just not to disrupt the working www.website.tv
