lvm trouble

Hello all,

I just have a quick question on LVM, I am trying to configure my external storage to a server as LVM and am having problems in doing so. I have tried couple of times to setup the LVM and every time i do so i am not getting the size of the lvm not more than 2Tb,as the case am in need to make this a 10Tb one. Please let me know if any one has any suggestions.

Addl.Info: my external storage is md3200 with 21*2Tb disks

chris,

Thanks for the reply. This is how i previously did it.
First , i made sure that the disk is written with a partition table for that did all the steps by going to fdisk /dev/sdc and then created partition and then created my primary(as 1) and then configured it to be LVM(whole additional storage disk).

second stage,pvcreate /dev/sdc1 and then vgcreate vg0 /dev/sdc1
third -lvcreate -L 4T -n lvol0 vg0.{at this stage it is not allowing me to create how much i need to do, later when checked i came to know that it's of 2TB

third.mkfs -t ext4 -m 1 -v /dev/vg0/lvol0

then mount point option.

Like I said, we need the EXACT error msgs; saying it didn't work/not allowing doesn't help us.
In any case, seeing as you have a RHEL system there, you should search their Knowledgebase and/or phone their support.
