kernel panic on Debian server

My debian Lenny server has crashed twice in the past three days. When it crashes the following message displays to the screen:

Code:
Kernel Panic-Not Syncing.” Fatal exception in interrupt
What does that mean? How can I troubleshoot this?

Sorry, should have mentioned that in the first place. It's the standard Lenny kernel, 2.6.26.

Are you running Debian as a guest in virtualbox?

2.6.26-2.

No, it's not running as a VM guest. It is, however, the host for a Windows XP guest using virtualbox headless. Are you suggesting this problem might have something to do with virtualbox?

Having looked through your previous posts I suspect that you are running VBox on your Lenny server?? If so I suggest that you take a careful look at: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/in...ux/+bug/246067 look for a post from "peter76 wrote on 2008-07-19" which says that using the same kernel 2.26.26 in ubuntu intrepid he got the same kernel panic if the CPU virtualization was set to off. I don't know what cpu you are using but it may be the solution to your problem.

I hope that's not the prob... my cpu doesn't support hardware virtualization.
