Issues with Samba server (Permissions issue)

We recently had to replace the samba server in one of our locations after the old one died. We have 40 locations so I had an extra samba server from an old location in inventory that I reconfigured and put in place. Everything was going great until the network guy did a file restore (we have an off site rsync backup server). Now the location is back down again, the network guy can't be found and I've got to figure out a way to fix the issue.

Here is what was done on my end:

1) Made a few minor changes to smb.conf so that it would be location specific.
2) Added in the necessary accounts using useradd (making sure to specify the correct user group) and set the password using smbpasswd.
3) Logged on as each user and verified everything was good.
4) Waited for file restore.

Now after the network guy did what he did here is what I have:

1) If you try and log on as any user you get the follow error: "A Device attached to the system is not functioning".]
2) You can still log on as the domain admin.

Here is the log for one of the affected computers. I changed the username to jane.doe in the log.

I appreciate any advice you can offer. My samba knowledge isn't very extensive but it looks like it's up to me to resolve this.

are your workstations joined to the domain? also you have to create both domain users and smbusers and syncronise their passwords
