Issue with unmounting

I have 2 partitions named /dev/sda1 and /dev/sda2
Mounted the two partitions in /usr/filessytems.
When I try to unmount /dev/sda1, it unmounts /dev/sda2.
In my friends PC it does it properly not mine.

in general you should execute umount <dir>, umount <device> is obsolete and may fail. see man umount
