it is not a hosting provider... this is a customers server.... some other guy set the server up...

I'm about to reformat and reinstall the whole thing assuming something went wrong on updating services etc.

Do you have .htaccess or .htpasswd files under /wp-admin ?

IF you are having the same issue again then obviously the problem is not with your server. Where is the server located? Is it in a datacenter? If so maybe there is a load balancer or hardware firewall that is causing problems? In other words the same thing I mentioned before:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...6/#post4540064

I don't see wordpress installed on fastmedic.com so where did you install it? Make sure you install the latest 3.3 version directly from the wordpress.org site. Don't install it from some other source.

I've put it on a folder named wordpress

www.fastmedic.com/wordpress/

server is on customers office behind a firewall.

as long as I know, everything worked fine until one day it stopped working. I don't know for sure what was done, and that's why i decided to reformat... anyhow, server have a lot of latency.

in your wordpress folder .htaccess file add this under rewriteengine on and, if it exists, rewritebase:

Code:
rewriterule ^tuu/ wp-admin/ [NC,L]
The try to access www.fastmedic.com/wordpress/tuu/. If it works you'll likely be redirected to wp-login.php. If that happens then the problem is with the firewall. You can't access wp-admin but can access and alias tuu.

can't access the tuu alias either...
same behavior

Code:
logs..
190.219.129.5 - - [29/Dec/2011:18:35:45 +0000] "GET /wordpress/tuu/ HTTP/1.1" 302 - "http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-server-73/issue-with-apache-not-resolving-a-folder-906286/page2.html" "Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:8.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/8.0"

as you see, the logs are not showing anything unusual but the connection get lost on browser "The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."

now... here is where it become interesting..

when i call the address on the same server usin lynx.. it resolves fine..

here is the "page" on lynx
Code:
                                                              Fastmedic ⺠Log IFastmedic

However, when i call from another machine within their internal network,..
the website
Code:
HTTP request sent; waiting for response.
and it stays there forever... same behavior on the logs
Code:

forgot to mention.... the http.conf file is the "default" one as this webserver is going to serve only this page and no virtualhost has been setup
