in.tftpd: cannot get a Cisco client to tftp to my Slackware 12.0 server.

I have done numerous tests by reconfiguring /etc/inetd.conf and issueing the restart "/etc/rc.d/rc.inetd restart". I have tried adding and removing -s, -c, -p, etc. to no avail. I have tried numerous permission masks for /tftpboot by issueing the "chmod xxxx" command. In every case, I get the Cisco error about "error writing file to ...".

Can anyone help me resolve this problem?

well what config do you have? what's logged to the relevant log file (probably /var/log/messages)? does the client hit the box at all (check tcpdump on the server)
