I'm triyng to create a http tunnel that is accessable through a browser. I've tried the webmin one but I get the following error with every site tried:
I've realised that is a perl/cgi error from google searches but I have no idea how to fix it.

I'm using ubuntu hardy if it helps.

Is there any way to fix is and if not is there a browser based alternative out there?

Try using Webmin to tunnel to "http://http-tunnel.sourceforge.net/". Does that work? (it did for me)

PS: Queen's English please!!! Surely it is "an http tunnel"

It did! But that doesn't really help as most sites still don't work. Any further ideas?

P.S. Sorry about the 'a', my English teacher would be embarrased!

Well I'm guessing most sites don't work because they're not expecting to receive HTTP in an HTTP wrapper. Standard Apache or other web servers aren't configured to process http tunnels - they just expect standard HTTP. The http://http-tunnel.sourceforge.net/ site obviously is configured to deal with it - which is what you would expect based on their domain name. I can't help you much more (limit of knowledge reached), but perhaps you can get some better info by studying the http://http-tunnel.sourceforge.net/ website. Best wishes.

I'm having the same problem with the webmin tunnel.

I believe this has to do with authentication on certain sites. reason why I say this is when I first tried to log into facebook through the tunnel I got a completely different error which instructed me that I had a missing perl module. So I went in to CPAN and installed it. but the install failed, so like an idiot I choose to force it. Now I get the error you guys describe.

The worst part about it is I don't know the perl module's name I installed or else I'd remove it and try again

Try phpproxy or glypeproxy. I got both of those working perfectly through apache.
