How to remove NIS domain in Linux


I have a NIS configured in linux, i want to know how i can remove this NIS configuration completely? Can any one help me on this?

1) Stop the NIS service using "service" command.
2) Disable the NIS service permanently using "chkconfig" command.
3) Remove the NIS Tables ..I think in /var/yp directory.
4) edit the /etc/nsswitch.conf if necessary.

The instructions completely depend on what he means by "Linux".
