How to change Email from Name when used by 'mutt'?
Hi everyone,
I am currently using a shell script to run a java app which performs some integration logic. The shell then continues to compile a file with all stats resulting from the java app. I then send this compiled stats file to several emails. The email is from 'root'. Is there anyway to change this without having to create a new user and running this app as them instead.
let me know what information I can provide to help.
First off, bathory thank you for responding to my post.
your suggestion seemed to set the from email to whatever I set in the .muttrc file but the name which shows up in the email clients is still ROOT. I really want that to change and I'm not sure where I would do that. I'll take a look at what possible settings I can manipulate within the .muttrc config file.
the previous oistings resolved tchanging the name but what I need is to change the email from address when using mutt, I know I can use exportEMAL= user@domain and then i can use mutt but the from address comes mixed my regular network addres and the address I sed in the export,
any way to resolve that?
