How do I route connections to many classrooms?

Hello,

I have a highspeed connection connected to a slackware 11 machine.

there are 3 floors with 7 classrooms.

Each floor has a 24 port switch sending cables to each classroom.

all three switches are connected to a fourth switch in my room wich the slackware is also connected.

Can someone help me route exactly 128kbps to each room?

I have no direct experience of these tools, but it looks like some widely used linux server/gateway solutions (Clarkconnect, Smoothwall, Astaro) might give you that sort of bandwith management. Here are the Clarkconnect docs, for example,

You will need to have more than one nic. Then start googling for "linux firewall router", that should get you started.

I have used this often for a quick slackware router:

You may also want to look at the program "firestarter", its a really easy to configure router/firewall solution for Linux. Google "firestarter"
