How do i create a virtual NIC for PPTPd?

I'm trying to setup PPTPd on my dedicated server
and the IP ranges i put the in the config have to exist
in one of the network interfaces otherwise the connection
wont work,I currently only have eth0 with the direct internet IP
which i can't use for this purpose,I need a new NIC
with a LAN IP for this and I have no clue how to
create it,Any help would be appreciated.

heres an exmple:
Code:
$ sudo ifconfig eth0:1 10.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0
