Question High CPU usage for J2EE web application

Hi All,

OS: CentOS 6.0, x86_64

java -version
java version "1.6.0_27"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_27-b07)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.2-b06, mixed mode)

CPU usage for JAVA process ID always show more the 200%, to find this, I used YJP. After monitoring with YJP CPU usage show in the YJP graph is always less then 20% for the same process ID, but top command show more the 200%.

Has anyone used YJP for CPU profiling? anyone knows why is the difference?

YJP does slow down the java process by many degrees.
it examines the inner workings of your java application, and can give you hints how to make your java application faster.
this is completely unrelated to a running system performance like top.
Cheers, Tom.
