High Availability on SLES9

Hi Guys,

I've read the article about High Availability in www.novell.com and in www.linux-ha.org. for some reason i can't work it out. Does any body here have tried to setup a simple HA?

I'ved also tried this setup, see link below:

http://www.linux-ha.org/GettingStarted/TwoIPaddresses

And here's what i'ved done.

I have 2 SLES9 installed on a VMWARE machine and configured with:

SLES9 - A
hostname: paul
eth0: 1.2.3.4
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0

SLES9 - B
hostname: silas
eth0: 1.2.3.5
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0

Each 2 workstation has an entry in the file

/etc/hosts

1.2.3.5 silas.site silas
1.2.3.4 paul.site paul

etc/ha.d/ha.cf

logfacility daemon
node paul silas
keepalive 1
deadtime 10
bcast eth0 eth1
ping 1.2.3.254
auto_failback yes
respawn hacluster /usr/lib/heartbeat/ipfail

/etc/ha.d/haresources

paul 1.2.3.4
silas 1.2.3.5

After inputing all those information on both workstation (SLES9) i issue the command rcheartbeat start. Now for some reason. it didn't work... Those anybody here nows or have a step by step tutorial on how to setup Linux Clustering? or perhaps explain how to make it work and what are my mistakes?

Any help will be appreciated...

Regards,
