hidd daemon

Hi,

I have hidd daemon running in my server and I came to know that it has something to do with bluetooth.

Is this service really required ? What is its main function ?

hidd allows your computer to use Bluetooth Human Interface Devices (HID) like keyboards and mice. If you aren't using anything like that, which I can't imagine you would be on a server, you can disable the daemon.

In fact, if you aren't using Bluetooth at all, there is really no reason to have BlueZ installed in the first place.
