FreeRadius wtih MySQL backend - Response Time

hi guys,

I want to deploy freeradius with mysql backend on my network for authorization, authenticating and accounting (AAA) to manage network equipments.

I'm currently testing on my the solution with one Cisco router and all functions works. However, it takes about 40seconds to authorize or authenticate a user and I have the two equipment directly connected with each other.

What could be causing the slowness response?

thanks,

Well, at base there are 4 things to check: cpu, mem, disc I/O, network bandwidth.
I'd start by having an xterm open with top running and see what you can see when you test.
If its not cpu, have a look at iostat, vmstat, sar and so on.
