File/Folder duplication

Im looking for a bit of help and advice as somewhat of a newbie with extremely basic server running knowledge.

Ive recently had a dedicated Plex media server set up (which l can access via VNC), but lm looking for a bit of advice.

namely my plan is to have select directories copy their contents in a somewhat automated way to specified folders.

for example, when l acquire new media (legally owned of course) and directly download it to the server my hope is that l can have certain folder where l put said media for example a folder called "TV Series" which will automatically copy that content to a specified Plex directory called for example "PlexTV Series", lm not looking to sync the folders more just copy the content of the origin folder to the destination folder as l will periodically clean the origin folder once a week so want to keep destination content until lm finished with it.

is it possible to do something like that? and is it possible to automate it somehow? as lm likely to set up multiple folders for other content l plan to watch through Plex.

any information would be gratefully appreciated.

First advice: Don't use directory or file names containing spaces. That just complicates everything.
What you're talking about is "moving" a file from one directory to another.
See man mv

I'm not a plex user, but I would be mighty surprised if it didn't offer such a facility - or someone hasn't already scripted it. Save yourself a lot of grief by exercising your search engine.
Linux offers a watch facility in inotify that could be used to handle this - a small amount of scripting would be needed to accommodate multiple targets, but pretty trivial. But you would need to learn all of the above.
