fail2ban error

Hi

When I restart fail2ban I get the following error:

Code:
Starting fail2ban: WARNING 'pidfile' not defined in 'Definition'. Using default one: '/var/run/fail2ban/fail2ban.pid'
Do you know why this is coming up?

Recently my server's files ownership, permission etc was changed and caused me a lot of issues. I dont know whether someone tried to hack into it or sent some kind of a malware to do this.

Any help on the fail2ban would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

It's just a warning. It means that there is no pidfile option in fail2ban.conf, so it uses the default location for it.
If you want stop seeing it, add in fail2ban.conf:
Code:
pidfile = /var/run/fail2ban/fail2ban.pid
Regards
