display php errors from within chroot jail

Hi

In a nutshell i cant get display_errors to work on sites that are within a chroot environment

more detail..

I've setup (using jailkit) a system that chroots webuser of a domain allows them command line access to their space and ability to setup websites..

The chroot environment is within a domain ie

var/www/vhosts/mydomains.com/web_users/

and the users websites are in directory

var/www/vhosts/mydomains.com/web_users/home/~user1

The websites display fine (including php) but the php display errors will not work.

I have one website sitting outside the chroot environment on the same address

var/www/vhosts/mydomains.com/httdocs/index.php

which displays the errors fine

Apache is running outside the jail

I also i have noticed that the error_log for the domain do not pick up the errors.

Any ideas?
