Creating a donotreply email account with a virtual mail server using postfix, dovecot and mysql

Hi everyone,

I currently have a mail server running Ubuntu 18.04.2 with mariadb, postfix and dovecot as per this tutorial: https://www.digitalocean.com/communi...d-spamassassin

I have also managed to install clamav and roundcube, this is all working wonderfully

I now need to create an account which cannot receive mails. I have read that you have to configure postfix's alias file with a

devnull: /dev/null

Would this work for me? Would this not mess up my postfix configuration since it points to my database of users?

Any pointers would be appreciated.

If it is properly configured, it should not. A web search for "/dev/null postfix" will turn up dozens of articles and posts on how to do this and avoid any pitfalls.
