could not detect the voulume group


Hai,

I installed Fedora core6 in Dell presission 370 with SATA har disk with defult partion lay out i.e in LVM.I’ve recompiled the kernel source 2.6.20 but while booting the new kernel it is showing error can’t find Volume group….. Kernel panic etc.Can any body has any clue why it is showing like that.

please advice

hello rudra,

i think its a issue with initrd nothing else. You can try below link to rebuild initrd and the other link for rebuilding with a specific module. You need to make sure that you add the LVM modules.
