Seg fault (libpthread-2.5.90.so) Firebird 2.1.0 chroot to MontaVista
***After having thought I had solved the problem it persists, but I was able to grab some more information. From the real terminal, when starting fbguard (the server restart daemon) in the chroot environment causes periodic segfaults. The message reads (paraphrased) fbserver[id]: segfault at 58, error 4 in libpthread-2.5.90.so..
Hopefully someone has an idea of what that means, some type of library it looks like but I'm unsure what I should do to fix this.. Any insight for troubleshooting, things I can try, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. Much of the information in my first post below applies to the problem as well.
Also any ideas on installing packages and such in a chrooted environment, MV is a linux distribution in its own right..but it exists in a folder on my Fedora 10 machine, having trouble installing things? Really wish I was better at this...sigh.
***ORIGINAL
Hi, I've been a frequent reader of the forums, but haven't had a chance to pose my own question until now. I appreciate you taking the time to look at my problem.
I'm trying to build a database in a chrooted MontaVista environment. My host OS is Fedora Linux 10. I chroot into the MV installation and try to build the database, however it seems like the firebird server is not running when I try isql -i Database.sql(which is a script created by a third party). Prior to running isql, I run a #fbguard &, and it appears to start properly. Someone else was responsible for the initial Firebird installation, I'm fairly certain it is version 2.1.0.
The database build works when I am in the Fedora 10 environment, with an installation of firebird I installed through yum. I have tried shutting the firebird daemon down before chrooting in and also leaving it running while chrooting in.
I have tried installing a new version of Firebird in MV but had some issues, I'm unsure whether it is a MV issue or a chroot issue. Any installation seems to give me a "unable to open '/proc': No such file or directory" type error during the installation, I am unable to get a hold of the previous person that installed firebird in this environment so I don't really know how it was done.
firebird.log is giving me something like:
Dateandstuff
fbguard: guardian starting bin/fbserver
fbguard: /opt/firebird/bin/fbserver terminated abnormally (-1)
If you could use some more information let me know. Unfortunately my knowledge of the Database.sql script and the MontaVista environment is limited so I don't know how much additional information I can provide. The best I know is that it properly creates my database in Fedora but not in chrooted MontaVista (and I believe it was designed with MontaVista in mind).
I appreciate it.
