CentOS7 Striped FS without LVM???

We are experimenting with a database called Vertica. One quirk is that they do not allow you to use a LVM based filesystem to place data/catalog. The installer pukes when I tried.
Given the database is several TB, and our disks are 300GB, I tried to create a striped LV on the VG with the 300GB luns and then create ext4 FS on that, but the Vertica installer wont allow it.
Is there a way to create a striped ext4 FS without using a LVM?

Create a RAID 0 using mdadm and put your filesystem on the resulting md device.

I feel embarrassed, I completely forgot about md-raid...
That's a great suggestion.

I trust your backup regime is robust. RAID0 on that many disks is fragile to put it politely. Better perhaps to use more disks and use the protection afforded by one of the higher RAID levels.

Vertica has similarities to Hadoop, in that data is replicated between machines.
In addition, I can create HW raid and present the luns there, but that still doesn't provide the performance I need from multiple luns.
The number of luns in a stripe seems to greatly affect FS performance at the OS layer based on tests done so-far.
