Cannot display

I cannot seem to display php files on xampp. When the php file opens up all it shows is either a blank white page or sometimes it just shows the source code.

Any ideas on what is going on?

No idea.
Is it running in windows, linux or mac ?

Are they your php files or ones that came with xampp ?

What happens when you go to http://localhost in your browser ?

Have you read any of these ?
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/faq-xampp.html

You have to give us a clue.

Cannot display

Ok, sorry I was so vague. I am running ubuntu on one computer and windows 7 on the other computer and I have the same problems. Here is the deal.

In windows when I try and open a php file all that is displayed in the window is the source code for the php file.

Now when I am using ubuntu, when I try and open the php file its asking me to save the file.

I do have xampp running and I am saving all my work to the htdcos folder.

I am able to view http://localhost and I am also able to view http://localhost/phpmyadmin.

So, what am I doing wrong, please help.

Well php obviously works if you can see the start page, and phpmyadmin.
So your php files must be suspected.
Try some of the examples in this :
