cannot connect to samba except with one specific user

As the title says, I can only connect to my samba linux only with a user. It so happens that the name of the user is the same as the user I'm using for my Mac OS, but I don't think that's got anything to do with it.

When I try to connect to any other randomly created user, it simply won't let me log in (the window shakes instantly, suggesting that there's an authentication problem).
This is my smb.conf:
Quote:
[global]
workgroup = WORKGROUP
server string = Samba Server %v
netbios name = SERVER
;security = user
map to guest = bad user
browseable = yes
dns proxy = no

[allaccess]
path = /share/allaccess
browseable = yes
inherit permissions = yes
writable = yes
guest ok = no
read only = no
valid users = @users
vfs objects = recycle
recycle:repository = .recycle
recycle:keeptree = yes
recycle:versions = yes
recycle:touch = yes
[homes]
; path = /home/%U
writable = yes
browseable = no
create mask = 750
directory mask = 750
valid users = @users
Any suggestions?

Never mind. Once again, the mac's samba client proves to be utterly idiotic. Don't know what the hell is wrong with it and why it is so difficult to program a decent one.
