apache - stage Get method

I am getting this in my apache access log. Could anyone tell me what it means and how to avoid it. I can see it's getting 403. Thanks for help.

222.141.50.175 - - [03/Dec/2007:17:12:34 +1100] "GET http://www.baidu.com/ HTTP/1.1" 403 21

Is http://www.baidu.com/ your domain name? If not then its most likely someone trying to see if mod_proxy is open on your server. If http://www.baidu.com/ is not your domain name and you do not have mod_proxy enabled then I would not worry about it. If you really want to stop it then you can add the line to your /etc/hosts.deny file:
Code:
httpd: 222.141.50.175
Of course httpd is for apache 2.0 or greater. If you are using apache 1.3 then you would use the following line to deny:
Code:
apache: 222.141.50.175
If http://www.baidu.com/ is your domain name then you do not have apache configured properly.

Thanks,
James Glenn
