Apache 2.2.3 - unknown Apache process child

Hello guys

I noticed strange list of apache child process. Im working in a Centos 5 with httpd 2.2.3 prefork mode. Perhaps im wrong but it seems to me that the output of next command was strange

Code:
# ps -ylC httpd --sort:rss

Output:

Code:

UID PID PPID C PRI NI RSS SZ WCHAN TTY TIME CMD
S 48 9632 9630 0 85 0 2688 12841 412685 ? 00:00:00 httpd
S 48 9633 9630 0 85 0 2688 12841 413191 ? 00:00:00 httpd
S 48 9634 9630 0 85 0 2688 12841 379361 ? 00:00:00 httpd
S 48 9635 9630 0 85 0 2688 12841 413793 ? 00:00:00 httpd
S 48 9636 9630 0 85 0 2688 12841 392447 ? 00:00:00 httpd
S 48 9637 9630 0 85 0 2688 12841 375559 ? 00:00:00 httpd
S 48 9638 9630 0 85 0 2688 12841 375853 ? 00:00:00 httpd
S 48 9639 9630 0 85 0 2688 12841 349131 ? 00:00:00 httpd
S 0 9630 1 0 78 0 5252 12841 - ? 00:00:00 httpd
Look last process: UID 0 (root) RSS 5252! when the last is 2688. Im very confused. I think I haven't seen never this. Could someone confirm that output is totally correct? I tried to kill last process and apache continued this work normally. It seems as different apaches? Brlf, I don't understand.

Thanks!

It's normal. The process with uid 0 is the initial apache process (you start apache as root in order to bind to port 80) and the rest are apache's child processes running with uid 48.
