Sorry if I didn't give more details. I just want to add another txt record like this one IN TXT v=spf1 mx ~all
Since we have our own dns server, we will need to input a TXT record so Google can verify that we own xxx.com with out this verification we can't continue to setup Google Apps.
Maybe someone who understands this will join the thread---meanwhile: Add text record where? Are you following instructions provided by Google? (Your link does not appear to answer these questions.)
As i understand you want to go by the third option, to verify via your domain name provider. Sorry i cannot know anything about your provider, but as you see above you have three other simple options to verify to google that you own your site.
3rd option will not work since we have our own NS server not our provider. That's why I asked earlier to see how to add a TXT record on Linux DNS server. Can you help me with that?
Even after reading all the posts, I do not have a clear picture of what is going on. I know that Google wants you to add something to your DNS server, and it **appears** that you control the server.
Now, I can GUESS that what Google wants you to add is something that will be sent to them if they somehow contact your server. I can also GUESS that there is standard protocol for such things. I would think that the place to start would be the person who maintains/administers your server.
I'm the server admin. Sorry if I didn't explain clear in enough. Anyway, how can I edit DNS zone file in the linux so I can add the TXT record? Can you provide me the instructions or commands line for it?
