When changing a root password, is there a way to discover the old one ?
Hi there.
Do i need to reboot the machine to make it impossible to recover ?
Do sudo, kdesu, gksu or other programs can keep it in ram or hard drive partition ?

The short answer is no - the password is encrypted for storage using a one-way encryption function.
