Question whats the difference?


Hi,

I turned off some system service using "setup" command on my linux box. i am also getting some other service running under /etc/inetd.conf...i also commented some unnecessary serviceses...like telnet, ftp etc.

can anybody tell me whats service differ from those i turned off using "setup" and those from /etc/inetd.conf

You can make changes to /etc/inetd.conf on any Linux distribution. When using Red Hat you can also type the changes into setup which will then make the changes to /etc/inetd.conf.
