/var/log/messages

In my /var/log/messages I keep getting the folllowing message:

Mar 15 10:26:40 localhost -- MARK --
Mar 15 10:46:40 localhost -- MARK --
Mar 15 11:06:40 localhost -- MARK --
Mar 15 11:26:40 localhost -- MARK --
Mar 15 11:46:40 localhost -- MARK --
Mar 15 12:06:40 localhost -- MARK --

can anybody shed some light on what this is and eventually how I stop it.?

Hi,

Syslogd is creating these, take a look at the -m option (if it isn't there add -m 0).
See man syslogd for details

Hope this helps.
