URL filtering by user

hi

i'm sure this is not an uncommon problem - but i'm getting nowhere at present

i want to filter websites by user - not by IP

my users log onto a domain controller, and the gateway will sit on a seperate, dedicated machine

my ideal scenario is that users authenticate to the PDC and this serves as a logon to the gateway too, and then filtering is applied on a per user basis

i've been playing with ipcop 1.4.10 and am getting close, but not close enough !

i can use marco sondermann's advproxy to get the single logon functionality and that works fine

however .... the URLfilter 'addon' to advproxy doesn't do per-user filtering (marco has kindly confirmed this for me)

dageeks addonz don't work with ipcop 1.4, so i can't get dansguardian (+GUI) to work - and that only does per-user filtering beyond v2.7 (and i'm reasonably sure the dageek version is 2.6)

any ideas how i can proceed ?

i want to keep ipcop if at all possible as i really like copfilter+

thanks

neill

thanks very much for the tip

haven't come across this before so i'll check it out

if necessary i could have a 2 box proxy/gateway solution or switch from ipcop if needs must
