Spreading virus from one OS to another in same device.

Hi.
I'm leaving in a third old country, it's impossible to buy any games or any other apps in here. Every single person use pirated apps in this country since it's almost impossible to pay for game and app. I don't wanna turn my computer to a queen for malwares and viruses, I heard that software typically found on Linux machines are free so I decided to make the switch to Linux, use it as my primary OS while keeping windows for gaming purpose.

My question is, How can I isolate my windows OS which could be infected by pirated software from Linux one? Is installing them on different partitions enough to keep primary OS (Linux one) safe and keep viruses seperated from probably infected OS (windows)?

Windows viruses cannot infect Linux. You can run a virus scanner on Linux if you want. ClamAV is said to be effective, and it's free.

And to answer an obvious question: if you have a Linux virus residing on but not infecting a Windows machine, CLAMAV running on Windows WILL detect it. If you have a WINDOWS virus residing on but not infecting your Linux machine, CLAMAV running there will detect it. It is much safer, actually, to clean virii from a host that the virii cannot infect.

If an operating system is running under a virtual machine and it's infected by a virus of one OS and XP and Windows 10, where the same files system is this virus spreads to other partitions too where your second OS is installed you can run a virus scanner on linux.

If you have two OSes installed on your PC, you can boot into Linux and simply not mount your windows NTFS partition (or even remove/blacklist ntfs driver). In this case no user code would be able to access your Windows partition and save anything there. Just do not use root account, and you should be safe.

Note: If you're running Windows apps in WINE, and those apps are infected, then your Linux partition will be affected.
