Exclamation Security setting, RedHat 9

Is there a way to configure Redhat 9 firewall to NOT respond to a ping from another computer? DHCP still allowed.

Symantec internet security has that option in Windows.... but who wants buy that?

You can easily tell each Linux machine not to respond ping thanks to /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all file. To disable response, do:
Code:
echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/icmp_echo_ignore_all
Note that there are a lot of interesting files in this directory. Only one problem, to know what they do... But this document may help you to understand more things about these files.

Hope this help you
