Remote File Distribution Client Program

Hi,

I have a network where in 10 machines are connected and all run on RedHatLinux AS/ES 4.0.

I need to regularly backup files to these 10 machines from my Windows XP Machine.

I was browsing through internet and found that RDist could do this automatically.

My requirement is like this.

Consider the 10 machines be MAC-1 to MAC-10 having IP Addresses in the range 192.168.201.01 to 192.168.201.10 respectively.

Suppose I FTP a file from my Windows Machine to node1 (say in the /home directory)i.e. MAC-1 having the IP Address 192.168.201.01, it should be automatically updated to the remaining 9 nodes in the /home directory.

Please let me know how RDist or any other facility does this, also provide the script files with proper extensions with information on where to place those files.

Regards.

sounds liek a reasonably standard rsync thing, unless you're expect all 10 machines to be able to copy files to everywhere... how is that supposed to work in the long term... when you delete a file should it be deleted everywhere? how do you know it's deleted?

and don't you thing expecting completed script files and such from a voluntary community is a little OTT?
