rar file support clamav

Hello all,

According to their documentation, clamav cannot scan version 3.0 rar files due to licensing.

However, they have not advised of any possibility for a user to setup their clamav to scan rar files version 3 if the user legally own's a license for rar. Is there a way to do this? Or is there another open source alternate than can?

AFAIK if you read lurker.clamav (mailing list) it seems unrar3 was fixed in CVS, so you might have to check that out.
In any case this is IMHO not a Linux Security issue, more something for Linux Software.

Thanks unspawn. Sorry for post locale, I was actually 'torn' when I was about to make the post which thread to use, I kind of thought the same, but decided here because it is a security risk not to read files, still sorry nonetheless.
