Lightbulb Problems with xMule, gtk-gnutella ...etc.

Hi mates! I'm not an expert in Linux world but I've got installed xMule and GTK-Gnutella in my laptop. The problem is that I'm only able to execute them in root mode. As you know this is very insecure and I'd like to know what I have to do to execute another user, say 'user1'.

This is for example the error I get when I try to execute with other user than root 'gtk-gnutella' or 'xmule' commands:

Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified

Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0

What should I do to solve that??

Thanks to all for your help!!

i'd assume you're logging into X AS root then.. that's just as bad as running gnutella as root! don't do it! log in as a normal user and run gnutella as that user. that answer you want would be...
Code:
[user@linux user]$ xhost +localhost
