prelude ids install problem

Hello all,

I've been trying to get prelude setup. I went thru their site and installed all the requirements and what not prior to install. I get thru the first package okay - libprelude-0.9.9. But when I try to install the second libpreludedb-0.9.8, I get the following at the end. Has anyone ran across this. I'm not really sure where to go from here. I tried googling this and searching for it here, and havent found much help.If I'm being dumb and don't see what I'm missing I aplogize in advance, I'm a newbie.

*** Could not run libprelude test program, checking why...
*** The test program compiled, but did not run. This usually means
*** that the run-time linker is not finding LIBPRELUDE or finding the wrong
*** version of LIBPRELUDE. If it is not finding LIBPRELUDE, you'll need to set your
*** LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable, or edit /etc/ld.so.conf to point
*** to the installed location Also, make sure you have run ldconfig if that
*** is required on your system
***
*** If you have an old version installed, it is best to remove it, although
*** you may also be able to get things to work by modifying LD_LIBRARY_PATH
***

It just means that the program can not find the dynamic library and you need to tell the program where to find the needed library. You can set an enviroment LD_LIBRARY_PATH to include the library of prelude that you have installed.

Or you can just add that directory into the file /etc/ld.so.conf. For example, suppose that you have installed prelude into /usr/local/lib.

Your can add the following line under /etc/ld.so.conf
xxxxx
xxxxx
/usr/local/lib

Then run /sbin/ldconfig -v to reload all necessary dynamic libraries and they should work by now.

By the way, I played with Prelude long ago. Did they update the project recently?
