Open SSH

Hello,

I have just starting to play around with SSH. At this time, I'm connecting to a linux box running the sshd protocol via putty from a windows box. I really did very little to get ssh running which concerns me. Basically, I just started the deamon and connected with putty. Which tells be that this box is probably insecure.

1.) Do I need to download a new keychain and install it.

2). Do I need to create users

# ssh-add ~/.ssh/identity
Need passphrase for /home/drobbins/.ssh/identity
Enter passphrase for /home/drobbins/.ssh/identity
(enter passphrase)

3.) How Do I test to see if my SSH connections are secure? Are there log files that I can look at?

Failed attempts to gain access to your system are mailed as notice e-mails to the root user. Also I think you can check

/var/log/secure

Not sure what you mean. If sshd is up and running sounds like your good to go. Is there another problem?
