kerberos slave replication (kpropd)

I'm trying to replicate a kerberos KDC on a KDC slave using kprop. I keep getting the error:
Code:
kprop: key table entry not found while getting initial ticket
when I issue the command: krop -f slavedump host.slavekdc.org

I'm using inetd to start kpropd but even if I kill inetd and start kpropd -S, either way I get no open port on 754 when I do a port scan. I'm getting no traffic when I run a packet sniffer on the slave KDC so I don't think the problem is on the slave even though there's no open port. I did a search on the error message but haven't been able to figure it out.

Thanks for any help.

update: when I try running kpropd -S -p 754 I get the error that this port is already in use but I can't see it open when I run a portscan.

I got it to work. I think there was a problem w/ the keytabs mismatching and a host principal not loaded in the keytab. I still don't know why there's no port being shown for kpropd.
