I want to allot packages to each users? [ Redhat Linux ]


Dear Friends,


i have a requirement, each user has to be access particular packages in Redhat linux systems.

for example :

A is the user.
1. this A user has to be access only the office suite. or
2. This A user has to be access only the Office suite + Qt-Designer.


is there any possibilities to do?

please help me.

You could try creating a group for each 'group' of usages eg

group1 = OpenOffice
group2=OO+QT

then add the user's to those groups as supplementary groups (see usermod -G) and then use group level ACLs on the programs.
There may be an easier way...

Restricted Shells

Check out restricted shells such as rbash.
