Question How to get racoon to set phase 1 upon startup?

Hi

I have a working racoon setup between a GNU/Linux 2.6.28 on ppc and a CISCO router.
My problem is that phase 1 negotiation is not initiated until a tunnel is up (setkey) and I ping through the tunnel. Only then racoon does the phase 1 and phase 2 negotiations.
Is it possible to get racoon to negotiate phase 1 with the remote node on the racoon startup? So phase 1 is up and running and only waiting for the tunnels and the pings?

I attached my racoon.conf file

Thank u
Karin

I don't have an answer to your question regarding Racoon, as I have not used it, but from what I have read it is that it is quite difficult to configure and get working. Have you considered either Openswan or Strongswan instead?
