Question

OK. I have searched older threads in the security section of this forum, but I have not found an answer to my problem. I would like a good, free firewall that has a graphical user interface. I know you can you command line, scripts, etc, but I would like it to have a GUI. I have tried going to search engines and typing in "free linux firewall," but the choices are in the millions. What does everybody suggest? If it makes a difference, the Linux computer will be running as a web server (apache). Thanx!

If you have like a extra old machine laying around, I suggest using http://www.smoothwall.org. Its like its own OS on the machine.

I read about that in another thread. The problem is that I don't have another machine. The linux box will need its own firewall (it will be behind a router, which will help).

Enable netfilter or ipchains in your kernel config, and setup some good rules (no gui though, but who needs these ).
