Firewall GUI

Hi

I'm having a real hard time understanding iptables.
Is there a GUI out there that is simple to use...

Untill i get the hang of iptables..

First I need to know how the firewall treats packets leaving, entering, or
passing through a computer.

Basically i would like to know if these chains would be corrert as to what they do for each of these.

Any packet entering your computer goes through the INPUT chain.
EG: people surfing web site.

Any packet that your computer sends out to the network goes through the OUTPUT chain.
EG: Sending mail

Any packet that your computer picks up on one network and sends to another goes through the FORWARD chain.
EG: https Shop

Is this corrert or can some one explain a little better.

TT
