file permissions/vsftp/incoming directory
I'm using vsftp and here is what is happening and what I want it to do.....
I have anonymous user setup so that files can be uploaded to my incoming directory but not downloaded or changed (as usual). The problem is that when the file is uploaded it is given permissions as follows:
-rw------- 1 ftp steve 936 Jul 16 13:02 file.txt
I have many users who want files uploaded to the system from outside so within the incoming directory, I have directories for each user receiving files. So the above example is in the /incoming/steve directory. I want to make it so that when a file is uploaded, the user is changed to the correct authorized user whos directory the file is being uploaded to. Basically, I want it so that when the above file is uploaded by an anonymous user, it looks like this:
-rw------- 1 steve steve 936 Jul 16 13:02 file.txt
so that the authorized user can go in and retrieve the file once it's uploaded.
Right now, files can be uploaded but my authorized users can't get to them unless I go in and manually change the permission. Hope this makes sense and that someone can give me some idea how to accomplish this using the /etc/vsftpd/vsftpd.conf file.
Thanks!
