How are these uploaded/downloaded? scp, sftp, wu-ftpd, vsftpd etc... Different methods have different mechanisms and capabilities for monitoring information.

Regardless of the server, take a look at /var/log/. Most of the information you want is probably there somewhere. (I'm not sure that scp logs individual transfers...)

Well, I use https transfers so I guess(?) this would be scp?

I've checked my logs and can identify downloads but not uploads to the server.

Can someone 'straighten me out' on 'HTTPS' file upload and downloads......maybe theres an online tutorial on it somewhere.

Kinda' confusing though that I can identify downloads but not uploads........

I believe https uses SSL. Perhaps the /var/log/httpd/ directory contains some info for you. (?) ( ssl_access_log and ssl_request_log )
Mine are empty since I don't run Apache. i.e. Apache isn't my strong point.
