Dont want Firewall!

Hi, i just got red hat 8. Have to say i dont know that much about Linux ( another Damm Newbie!) hope you can help.
As soon as i saw that you could setup your own http server i jumped right in , i have this as a server on a small LAN, and had the apachie test page up , more messing and i ended up doin a full reinstall!!! This time i can not see the test page on the LAN,i tried to shut the firewall, as i did before, but no joy. Another reinstall!!! :-((( This time i was ready! i disabled the firewall during setup, guess what when install completed the bloddy firewall was there bigger and better !!!! NOOOOO. I do not need the firewall as its not on the NET, nor are the other computers on the LAN, i want to be ablt FTP, HTTP, etc but cant with this Firewall. I will eventually want to set one up as i suss this Linux thing out, but not for the minuite, Sorry to be so stupid but i woul love some help , i cant hack another install, and Windows is so boring after Linux, i have to crack this.

Try turning off iptables or ipchains services or not have them start at boot time.
Maybe try SysV-Init Editor in KDE KMenu -> Configure -> Boot and Init ->

If you want rid of the firewall run these as root:
iptables -F
service iptables save

NOTE: This is very insecure. When you have the services running as yu wnat them I reccomend thtat you configure the firewall again.
