Cannot type in Passwork box (SuSE 8.1)

I started using SuSE a few days ago and never had any problems, but now when I get to the login screen, the password box will not let me type anything in it; the cursor just blinks. It will let me type in the user box but not the password box. Any help will be appreciated.

Try rebooting into runlevel 3 and login. If that works it's a GUI thing and then you should retrace your steps like if you changed configs, installed/upgraded stuff.

I seem to have a similar problem in other places within SuSE 8.1, particularly YaST.

My solution is to press the tab button and then return the cursor to the password box. Don't know if it will work for you......
